About
What we do
Our goal is to help make RSS feeds more useful by allowing you to mix, filter and share. RSS feeds were created in order to put the power back our hands; it allows us to sit back and let the content come to us -- but there's a catch, the publishers decide what they send. And after all, we don't subscribe to these feeds because we like XML, we want the content. How can you filter down the feeds to exactly what you are looking for? How can you even find feeds that are of interest to you? That's where FeedBite comes in.
With FeedBite you can combine as many feeds as you want into groups called bundles and filter by keywords. You can share the bundles and allow other people of like interest to add new relevant feeds. With this unique model, the FeedBite community will help you create and maintain bundles of content relevant to the topic you are looking to follow.
If you're not satified with other people's content, make your own! FeedBite will host your own custom news blog, and using the 'feed me' links you can easily add articles to your feed with 1-click. You can even share your custom feed by allowing others to edit your posts, we call it a feed wiki.
FeedBite also makes it easy to find interesting content by accepting props (votes) and promoting the most popular articles. This feature is intended to be a different way to find bundles that are of interest to you.
Who we are
FeedBite.com is a self-funded and independent startup. The project has gone through many evolutions and we have many ideas to keep it growing in the future. We're only getting started.
Where we are going with this
Yes we intend to make this project a business, not a charity. We plan to generate revenue by diversifying the distribution methods of FeedBite feeds. That means the service will remain free, but in the near future we will be launching several premium products that allow you to read your feeds in new and unique ways.
